At first, I was informed by Annie Seow of Foto Miami that I can purchase my new Olympus e-420 with inclusive package (prices shown below) over at Photo Flash in Ampang Point. Photo Flash is the closest retail camera shop nearest to my home & I felt happy not having to travel far to do my purchase. I felt that it is almost as easy as buying catheters online.
MYR 2400 ($750): 2 kit lens Olympus e-420, 1 tripod, 1 photo bag, 1 CF Ultra II storage card
MYR 2000 ($625): 1 kit lens Olympus e-420, 1 tripod, 1 photo bag, 1 CF Ultra II storage card

However, things did not turn out quite as I expected because the Photo Flash only had the 2 kit lens Olympus e-420 in stock. I wanted to buy the 1 kit lens Olympus e-420 & shall have to wait about a week to buy it from the store as they had to put in the order & have it sent to the shop. I had no use for the other lens even though it would cost me about triple the cost to buy in individually other than in the package. Additionally, the other lens is, I have read, performs below average for its purpose & I shall can do better photos with a more advanced $800 lens in the future. Still, using telephoto lens is not in my business plan for the next few months or even a year or two.
Well, I guess you just wait for the single kit lens. I heard plenty negative reviews about this camera, but I belive it’s not the tool to blame.
Till then.
Hi, Saiful!
Good of you to stop by my blog. So forgive my late response. Yes, it is not the tool to blame. It’s funny that you mentioned negative reviews because I myself have not heard negative reviews of the Olympus e-420.
I can tell you one thing though; one person I talked to used the e-510 & did not like it not because of the camera but because he thinks the Zuiko lens are costly & that not many of his friends use Olympus cameras. So he converted to Nikon for his photo equipment.
Happy week to you, buddy!
