VIERA taken into Full HD by Panasonic

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

High quality & performance excellence is synonymous with the Panasonic range of LCD TVs. The first full high definition capable models are brought into the Malaysian market with the newest LZ80 series. They exude elegance & style, set to excite the LCD enthusiasts, comprising mainly of young adults & movie buffs. Plus, they come with a 2 year warranty.

You won’t see images looking like being washed out on the LZ80 series even when viewing from the sides. The In Plane Switching LCD panel accommodates 178 degree wide viewing angle, providing superior pictures from left, right, above, & below views. The colors are vivid even when viewed from sharp angles.

The high contrast ratio of 10000:1 & V-real 3 technology delivers deep hues of black. Also, the LZ80 series uses the Intelligent Scene Controller circuitry to detect input signal brightness level & adjusts the backlight & contrast gamma settings immediately. Furthermore 24p playback is used for smoother handling of motion picture.

Smart networking through Viera Link allows interlinked operation of various Panasonic devices using only the Viera remote control. Simply connect the devices to each other with a HDMI cable. Such devices include audio visual devices, Blu-ray disc players, DVD recorders, HD camcorders, & Blu-ray disc home theatre sound systems.

The LZ80 series offers two models which are the TX-42LZ80MK & the TX-37LZ80MK. The latter has a 37 inch screen while the prior has a 42 inch screen. Price is MYR3799 & MYR4499 respectively. In my budget wise reasoning, paying an extra MYR700 just for an extra 5 inches diagonal flat screen real estate is money that could have been spent better elsewhere.

Some features of the LZ80 series full HD LCD TVs:

• Two HDMI inputs
• PC input terminal (suitable for business presentations, meetings, & training programs)
• Horizontal Arch to create a feeling of visual expansiveness
• “Green” system using only one watt on standby & operating on 194W
• Eco mode: using photosensor to measure ambient light condition & adjust picture accordingly, resulting in less power usage in dsark light conditions without compromising picture quality
