Trying Some Circular Polarizer Filters at DirectPhoto

I was at the DirectPhoto photography supplies shop the other to check out some Circular polarizer filters. Actually I went to the shop to have my flash trigger for my studio lighting replaced. You can read about it in a previous post. Back to the Circular polarizer filter, do you see any noticeable difference of using a Circular polarizer filter & not using a Circular polarizer filter in the above before & after images?

I surely as heck can’t see much of a difference except that one picture look a bit darker than the other. The sales person informed me that the Circular polarizer filter works best when used with shiny surfaces like water & glass. Obviously there is no water & no a reflective surface in the above images. So, I did not buy the Circular polarizer filter. Since I was at the DirectPhoto shop which is located somewhere in Cheras (You can see the map by clicking here), let me show you the immediate surroundings near the store.

Above are some images of heavy duty vehicles owned by DBKL (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur) Cheras department which is located opposite the road from the DirectPhoto shop. So do be careful when walking as there are plenty of heavy duty vehicles moving about in the area. That day, while waiting for the shop to open, yes I was at the shop at 8.30 am & the workers were not even at the store yet; I got a glimpse of a video shoot being made at the side of the building. Check out the below photo.

Sorry but I was too busy waiting for the salesperson to come to the shop to go get a closer look. Just next to the shop is located a Mamak food shop. You may want to stop by & drink some tea & have something to eat while waiting for stuff at DirectPhoto. Yes, waiting is part of my shopping experience at DirectPhoto. You know, waiting for the products to arrive, waiting for the salesperson to arrive, & etc.

Ok, the shop is located on one of the top floors of the building. DirectPhoto uses one lower floor as a store & another & a showroom & sales area. Now that we are in the DirectPhoto shop itself, let me show the showroom & sales area. Below are a few photos I took while inside of the shop.

Basically, the customers are able to sit about in the central seating area while the office is located towards the end of the room. On the other opposite end is where you can see the arrays of lighting products, camera bags, DSLRs (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras (preferably Nikon), test shooting area, & etc. Ask for Ken Wong, he is a nice guy to chat with about photography stuff. Happy Shopping!
