Nikon D90 DX - First DSLR with HD720p Video Capability

I don’t know of any other DSLR camera manufacturers that provide HD video on their DSLR camera products. Now, there is one! Nikon is the first DSLR manufacturer to provide HD video capability, namely HD720p video on its D90 DX DSLR. The bad news is that I already bought a DSLR camera. The good news is that even though the D90 DX will be in the market soon enough, the price is still out of my budget.

Some of the Nikon D90 features:

• 12.3 megapixel CMOS sensor
• ISO 100-6400
• HD720p video capture (w/ audio)
• One-button Live View with Face Detection System
• 3″ LCD 920,000 pixel resolution
• 11-point AF
• Continuous shooting as fast as 4.5 frames-per-second
• 96% viewfinder coverage
• HDMI output

I can buy two of my current Olympus e-420 for the price of the D90 which is about $1300 retail 18-105mm lens kit & $1000 for body only. Nikon offers perhaps the best low light capability cameras & the D90 DX has an ISO6400 capability. The D90 DX is targeted at the advanced amateur market. With the D90 DX, users have a taste of using the Nikon flagship model, the D3 & receive the HD720p video capability to boot! It’s the first of its kind. Nikon is definitely making the correct move to win over a chunk of big spending DSLR users worldwide with the D90 DX.

So I had fun at Photo Flash, chatting with the good sales people & went over to browse & perhaps buy some stuff at the FMC technologies computer shop on the third floor, Ampang Point. Soon enough, Jimmy called to my cell phone & we talked how to go about the deal. Naturally, I wanted all brand new stuff & he assured me that all items are brand new with warranty. He can meet me tonight at Ampang Point after his meeting elsewhere.

However, the price for the same items had increased to MYR 2100 & he will have to pay for the items first. Jimmy probably was charging me an extra MYR 100 ($31.25) for his troubles. After thinking about it, I was reluctant at first with the deal but considering that he was going to travel all the way from PJ to meet me at Ampang Point, heck I could even ask him to send it straight to my home; so I said to him ‘No, Problem’ & he will give me a call when he is in Ampang.
